Genital warts are one of the forms of sexually transmitted infections which are mainly caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). These warts are soft, moist, and pink or flesh colored bumps. These warts usually seen around vagina, on the cervix or around the anus in females while it is lessen in men but if seen then occurs on tip of penis. It is not that all HPV strains affect genitals but there are some which cause visible warts.

Genital wart treatment includes various methods which includes use of cream but that is not recommended for pregnant women and this method is called podophyllotoxin. These warts can also be frozen off with liquid nitrogen or dry ice and this is known as cryotherapy. Laser or surgical treatments and vaccines are being used nowadays to prevent these genital warts. Australian men and women are eligible for HPV vaccine after consulting doctor and even in schools also girls are offered to get vaccinated.
Sexual Relationship Spreads Genital Warts
Women regular in sexual relationship should regularly have Pap test which is Papanicolaou test which is used to detecting unseen warts and helps in preventing cervical cancer. Especially women inAustraliaare recommended to have this test at least every two years. Both partners performing sex should be conscious to have safer sex. Use of condoms during anal and vaginal sex can reduce the risk of spreading these genital warts. Of course condoms can reduce risks on areas it covers but it doesn’t cover whole skin getting exposed during sexual intercourse. So with the proper protection it can be prevented from growing.
